Jiri Chocolous (09.12.1856-1930), Czech chess composer, one of the fathers of the Bohemian composing school.
Alexander Ilyin – Genevsky (28.11.1894-1941)Soviet Master and organizer, one of the founders of the Soviet chess school, a writer, a military organizer, a historian and a diplomat. He died in a Nazi air raid on a barge on Lake Ladoga, Russia.
