Viacheslav Osnos (1935-27.08.2009), Russian Russian International Master, trainer and author who between 1968 and 1974 he was one of Viktor Korchnoi’s seconds.
Anthony Kosten (1958) England grandmaster and coach who is living in France.
Ludger Keitlinghaus (1965), German Grandmaster.
Tigran Gharamian (1984), Armenian-French chess Grandmaster, runner-up on tiebreak to Christian Bauer at the French Championships (2015).
Vugar Gashimov (1986-10.01.2014), Talented Azerbaijani Grandmaster who was a solid member of the world top 10. Vugar Gashimov fell ill in February 2000, doctors diagnosed epilepsy. Subsequently, a brain tumor was found.

DEATHS

Nicolas Rossolimo (20.02.1920-1975) was an American-French-Greek-Russian  Grandmaster. He emigrated to France in 1929 then, in 1952 he emigrated to the United States, and won the 1955 U.S. Open Chess Championship.

CHESS EVENTS

1884. The British Chess Federation is inaugurated at a meeting called by Hoffer, at Simpson’s Divan. Lord Tennyson was the President.
1925 The FIDE GA proposed to write the first draft of Chess Rules.
1930 The FIDE GA accepted Lithuania and Iceland as full members but rejected Scotland who was still part of Great Britain. FIDE has 28 members.

1411 Battle of Harlaw, one of the bloodiest battles in Scotland, takes place.
