Jiri Chocholous 1856-03.09.1930), a Czech chess composer.
Anthony Santasiere (1904-13.01.1977), a strong American Master and chess writer who never got an international title despite his victory in the 1945 US Championship.
Philipp Meitner (1838-1910), an Austrian Master and lawyer. He is known for his famous game named “Immortal Draw” against Carl Hamppe at Vienna 1872.
Nikolay Novotelnov (1911-30.12.2006), a Russian International Master (1951) and author.
Jana Bellin (1947), an English Doctor and Woman Grandmaster born in the Czech Republic.
Mark Dvoretsky (1947-26.09.2016), a Russian International Master, trainer, writer, and coach.
Guillermo Garcia Gonzales (1953-26.01.1990), a Cuban Grandmaster who was Cuban Champion in 1974 and 1983. He died in a car accident in 1990.
Dejan Antic (1968), a Serbian Grandmaster, coach, and writer who was Serbian Champion in 2015.
Dalibor Stojanovic (1983), a Bosnian Grandmaster.
Ernesto Inarkiev (1985), a Russian Grandmaster born in Kyrgyzstan. He was the European Champion 2015.
Hikaru Nakamura (1987), an American Grandmaster who is a four-time United States Chess Champion born in Japan. He was the second best world rated player in 2015.
Ivan Rozum (1991), a Russian Grandmaster.

DEATHS

Janos Flesch (30.09.1933-1980), a Hungarian International Master. He is best known for claiming a world record simultaneous blindfold exhibition when he played 52 opponents in Budapest in 1960.

CHESS EVENTS

1985 The match between J. Timman (NED) and M. Tal (USSR) for the 4th qualifying place from the Candidates’ Tournament finished 3-3. J. Timman qualified for the next stage by superior tiebreak.
