James Moore Hanham (04.01.1840-1923), an American player and writer who finished second at the 1st U.S. Championship in 1888. He gave his name at a variation of the Philidor’s Defence (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 Nd7).
Manuel Aaron (1935), an Indian International Master and a coach. He was the fist Indian player to be awarded an international title.
Bruno Parma (1941), a Slovenia Grandmaster who won the Wolrd Junior championship in 1961.
