Marta Litinskaya (1949), a Ukrainian Women Grandmaster (1976) who was World Senior Women’s Champion in 2002 and 2003.
Alexander Kochiev (1956) a Russian Grandmaster who was European U20 Champion in 1975.
Dimitri Tyomkin (1977), a Canadian-Israeli Grandmaster who was European U20 Champion in 1997.
Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi (1979), an Indian International Master and Woman Grandmaster who won more or less all girls and women’s national titles.
Tian Tian (1983), a Chinese Woman Grandmaster and coach.
Elena Partac (1984), a Moldavian Woman Grandmaster living in France.
Constantin Lupulescu (1984), a Romanian Grandmaster who won the Romanian Championship in 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2015.
Richard Rapport (1996), a Hungarian Grandmaster, the best Hungarian rated since 2016 who became the youngest ever Hungarian Grandmaster at the age of 13 years, 11 months and 6 days.

CHESS EVENTS

1956 A monument to Alexander Alekhine was inaugurated by the FIDE President in Paris. This day was chosen by FIDE and many Federations to commemorate other World Champions that have passed away.
2001 The FIDE Presidential Board resolved to make the use of the new time control of 40 moves in 75 minutes, 15 minutes for the remainder of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move 1, mandatory for the World Championship events.
