Felix Levin (1958), an Ukrainian Grandmaster born in Germany.
Ildiko Madl (1969), a HungarianInternational Master and Women Grandmaster. A member of the Hungarian team with the Polgar’s sisters which won the 1990 Women’s Olympiad.
Ilaha Kadimova (1975), an Azerbaijani Woman Grandmaster who was Belarus Women’s Champion in 1990 and won a couple of European Youth championships.
Gisela Fischdick Gisela (1955), a German Women Grandmaster.
Maarten Solleveld (1979), a Dutch Grandmaster.

1924 The Brazilian Chess Federation was founded.
2014 The 24th FIDE World Senior Championships took place at the Olympus Riviera of Katerini in Greece,  Zurab Sturua (GEO) and Anatoly Vaisser (FRA) became  the new World Champions for the senior categories 50+ and 65+ respectively while WIM Svetlana Mednikova (Russia) and the legendary GM Nona Gaprindashvili(Georgia) became  the new World Champions for the senior women’s categories 50+ and 65+ respectively.
