American International Master (1962). US Junior Champion in 1958.
Best results: third in the 1960-61 US Championships. He competed in the 1960 Olympiad and also played in the Student Olympiads of 1960 and 1961, with gold medals for the best score at board 2 on both occasions. Marshall Club Champion in 1960, 1961 and 1962.
He qualified for the 1962 Interzonal but decided not to play, and in the late 1960s, withdrew from chess.
In 1963, he was arrested and convicted of the murder of a man of 83. He went to trial and was judged mentally ill. He was confined to Ward’s Island for the mentally ill in New York, where he remains there today.
