Weenink,-Henri-Gerard-MarieOne of the leading Dutch chess players in the 1920s-30s. Chess composer and journalist.

He took part in four Olympiads, being a member of the Dutch national team from 1927 to 1931. In 1930, he won the International Tournament of Amsterdam, ahead of Max Euwe and Rudolf Spielman.

He is the author of the first systematic work on chess composition history in 1926.

Since 1908, he published biographical information about some eight or nine hundred composers and about 400 compositions, 70 out of them were prized with the mark in the Championships.
