Vogt Lothar Helmut (17.01.1952)

German Grandmaster (1976) and teacher of German and history. Was theEast German Champion in 1968, 1977, 1979 and 1980. During 1967-85, he took part in 16 East German Championships. He had successful results at several international tournaments: shared 1^st and 2^nd at Stary-Smokovets 1972 and 1979; won Leipzig 1974, was 3^rd and 4^th at Leipzig 1976, 3^rd and 6^th in 1980 and 1983, 2^nd and 4^thin 1986; took at Cienfuegos 1976,4^th and 5^th; won 3^rd-4^th in 1976 and 2^nd-4^th in 1986 at Budapest; shared 1^st and 1^st-2^nd at Kecskemet 1977 and 1984;  at Halle 1978 and 1981,4^th and 2^nd; won at Riga 1981,4^th; shared at Polanica Zdroj 1982,1^st -2^nd; won at Havana 1985,3^rd -5^th;at Eger 1985,1^st -3^rd; equal at Tastrup 1990, Valby 1991, Arosa 1996, Leipzig 1997, Zurich and Leipzig 1998,1^st;at Lenk Open 2006,1^st. He participated in the Olympiads of 1972 and 1988. Best EL::2530 in 1992.
