Vera Gonzalez Quevedo, Reynaldo (07.01.1961)

Cuban Grandmaster (1988). Coach and journalist. Cuban Champion 1997 and 2001. Bronze at the World Junior Championship in 1977.

Best results: won Varna in 1986, also second in Bayamo in 1980 and third in Havana in 1983. Won 30 tournaments which included the Baltic Sea Cup in 2007.

He participated in 10 Olympiads since 1990 and was awarded a gold medal for the best performance at board 3 in 1998. A member of the team which won the Pan American Championships in 1987, 1991, 1995, 2000 and 2003.

Coach of Rodriguez, Hoffman and recently, Vallejo Pons. Author of the Meran Semi-Slav (2007) and Chess Explained: The Nimzo Indian (2007)

Best ELO: 2584 in 2000.
