vachier-lagrave-maximeFrench chess Grandmaster (2013) is born in Nogent-sur-Marne, France. World U20 Champion in 2009.  European Blitz Champion 2010 and 2012, French Champion in 2007, 2011 and 2012.

Maxime learned to play chess at 6. French Champion U14 and U18 in 2004 and silver medalist in the French Championship in 2005. Also, silver in the World U14 in 2003 and bronze in the World U16 in 2005.

Best results: won or shared first at Lausanne Young Masters 2006, Championships in Paris in 2007 and 2008, Parks (HUN) in 2008,  Biel Grandmaster. Tournament 2009,  Hoogeveen tournament 2010, 2012 SPICE Cup Festival, Al Ain Classic 2012, Biel Grandmaster Tournament 2013 and 2015, London Chess Classic 2015,  Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting 2016,  Corsica Cuicuit 2016, Sharjah Grand Prix 2017, Sinquefield Cup 2017; Gibraltar Open 2020, 1st-7th.
Second at the Grand Chess Tour in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

A member of the French national team since 2007, he worked for many years with Hauchard, Beliavsky and Bacrot.
