Dutch Correspondence Grandmaster (1986) and OTB FIDE Master.  Fifteenth World Correspondence Champion (2001).

Dutch Correspondence Champion in 1981 and 1983. Won also the ICCF World CUP V final B 1987-94, NBC-25 1991-94, FINJUB-30 GM 1991-96 and shared first in the Hans-Werner von Massow Memorial 2002. He placed 2nd= in a “champion of champions” tournament, the ICCF 50 Years World Champion Jubilee, behind Mikhail Umansky.

He plays also regularly in the OTB team championships in the Netherlands and Belgium. He was several times the classical chess champion of Rotterdam, won the Dubai Open in 1992 and the Brugges Open in 1993.
