In matches, he drew with Jan Timman 1-1 and beat Luke Van Wely 3-1 both in 2009. Stellwagen is also an excellent problem solver and at the age of 16, won the endgame study-solving contest in the De Feijter Festival in Deventer with an unprecedented 100%.
