Icelandic Grandmaster (1993), 13 times Icelandic Champion between 1998 and 2019. World Champion U16 in 1987. Five times Nordic Youth Champion and four times Icelandic U20 Champion. Started chess at 5 years of age.

Best results: won or shared first in the Reykjavik Open 2000 and 2008, Lisbon 2000, Cairo 2001, Aarhus 2003, Reykjavik Open in 2008 and 2009. A participated in nine Olympiads since 1992 and in the World Chess Championships in 1999 and 2000.
