Bulgarian Grandmaster (1976). An engineer by profession. World Senior Champion in 2005 and third in 2006. In 1959 and 1960 he was third in the Bulgarian U20 championships.
Best results: won or shared first place at Lublin 1971, Primorsko in 1972, Albena 1975, Prishtina 1975, Pernik 1976, Oslo 1976, Hamburg 1977, Stara-Zagora 1977, Kikinda 1978, Oberwart 1980, Pamporovo 1981 and Ajuntaments Silla A & L’ Alcudia de Crepins 2009; also he was the second in Warsaw in 1983. A participant in the Olympiads in 1974, 1978 and 1980.
Peak rating: 2480 in 1977, he was then the third best rated Bulgarian player.
