Skembris Spyridon (22.02.1958)

Greek Grandmaster (1990). Coach. Greek Champion in 1981, 1984, 1989 and 1993. Twice Greek Junior Champion.
He was awarded a gold medal for the best individual score at board 2 in the 1992 European Team Championship and a bronze medal for the third place in the World Junior Championship in 1977.

Best results: won or shared first at Thessaloniki 1980, Osijek 1982, Athens 1986 and 1988, Istanbul 1988, Komotini 1992, Gausdal Open 1993, Montecatini 2000 and Kavala Open 2005. In a match, he beat Jan Timman 3-1 in 1993.

He is presently the main coach of the youth Greek players.
Skembris has participated in eight Olympiads from 1980 until 1994.
