Russian Grandmaster (1998). European U20 Champion in 1996, Russian Champion U20 in 1996. Best results: Russian Championship U20 1995, 4^th; Naizhnij Tagil 1998, 1^st; Subotica 2000, 2^nd; Oberwart 2000 and 2003, 1^st; Spit 2003, 1-2^nd; Biel MTO 2004, 1-4^th. A member of the Russian II team at the 1998 Olympiad. Shariyazdanov has played very little since 2006. Best ELO: 2612 in 2000.
