Spanish Grandmaster. Industrial engineer. Started chess at 5 years old. Spanish Champion in 1997, Spanish U20 Champion in 1986. World University vice champion in 1994 and 1996. Won or shared first in Buenos Aires 1995, Pamplona Open 2007. A participant in the Olympiads between 1994 and 2006. Board 1 of the second Spanish team in 2004. Coaching most of the time, he was second to Vishy Anand at the 2000 World Championship. Best ELO: 2540 in 1995.
