Romanian Women Grandmaster (1982) and International Arbiter. Seven times Romanian Women’s Champion in 1966, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1976 and 1977. FIDE Honorary Member, Romanian Emeritus Master, and Romanian International Sports Master.
Graduated in philosophy and journalism. Publisher and manager of Gambit.
Declared in 2000 the “Romanian woman chess player of the century”.
Best results: International championship of Australia (tied with Zsuzsa Polgar) 1987, Qualified for Vrnjiacka Banja, Ohrid and Minorca Women Candidates Tournaments and Rio de Janeiro Interzonal, fourth place in the Women World Correspondence Chess Championship 1972–77.
Elisabeta was awarded 9 Olympic medals: 6 team and 3 individual and has participated in 21 Olympiads: 10 as a chess player, 11 as an International Arbiter.
Declared in 2000 the “Romanian woman chess player of the century”.
