Hungarian International Master (1990), Woman Grandmaster (1989), living in Israel.
Gold medalist for girls and silver medalist in the overall World Championship Under-14 in Puerto Rico, 1986. Silver medalist at the World Junior Championship Under-20 in Brazil, 1993. World Junior U20 Rapid Champion in Mazatlan, Mexico, 1986.
Her best achievement was her success in Banco di Roma in 1989 with an amazing score of 8.5 out of 9.
A member of the Hungarian Women’s Team which won the Olympiads in 1988 and 1990. She got also 2 individual gold for best achievement at the 1994 and 1996 Women’s Olympiads.
Retired from international chess, Zsofia is married to the IGM Yona Koshashvili and she is the sister of IGMs Judith Polgar and Susan Polgar.
Peak rating: 2505 in 1998, she was once the sixth world’s best-rated woman.
