Planinc Albin (18.04.1944 – 20.12.2008)

Slovenian Grandmaster (1972). Slovenia Champion in 1968 and 1971.

His first success was at Vidmar Memorial in 1969 followed by Varna in 1970 and Cicak in 1973. Also notable results at Skopje 1971, 2^nd; Wijk aan Zee 1974, 3^rd; Amsterdam IBM 1973, 1^st-2^nd; Stip 1978, 2^nd-3^rd.

A participant in the 1974 Olympiad where he collected a team silver medal.

He finished his career early because of illness.
