Opochensky Karel (07.11.1892 – 16.11.1975)

Opochensky-KarelCzech International Master (1950) and International Arbiter (1951). Czech Champion in 1927, 1928, 1938, 1944. Prague Champion on many occasions.

Acted as Chief Arbiter at many important events, including the 1951 and 1954 World Championship matches, 1952 Olympiad and Candidates Tournament of Zurich in 1953.

A participant in 4 Olympiads between 1931 and 1939 (the last one under the Bohemia & Moravia flag) where he won individual gold and team silver medals (1933) and team bronze (1931).

In a match, he drew with Jan Foltys in 1941 (+4-4=4).
