Nedeljkovic Verica (16.09.1929)
Serbian Honorary Woman Grandmaster (1977), the wife of Prof Dr Srecko Nedeljkovic.
She was born in Pridvorica (Čačak), Serbia, Yugoslavia.
Best Yugoslav sportswoman of the year, she was awarded the Order of Merit for the People in 1957. Yugoslav Women’s Champion in 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1958 and 1965.
Best results: winner at Opatija in 1953, Herceg Novi zonal 1954, Venice Zonal 1957, Bela Crkva 1958, Bad Neuenaar zonal 1963, Belgrade 1962 and Barcelona zonal 1966.
She won interzonal tournaments 4 times and she participated in the Candidates Tournament 5 times (Moscow 1955, 6th; Plovdiv 1959, 2nd; ).
A member of the team which finished second at the 1963 Women’s Olympiad in Split. Playing at board 2, she was awarded an individual gold medal for the perfect score of 12/12.
