Armenian Grandmaster (1997) born in Georgia who played for a while for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Czech Champion 1998 and Slovakian Champion in 2002 and 2007.
Silver medalist at the European Individual Championship 2008. Bronze medalist at the World Junior in 1997. Quarterfinalist at the World Cup 2000 and quarterfinalist at the 1999 World Championship.

Best results: Winner in Pardubice 1995, Hamburg 1997, Groningen 1998 and Bosna in 2002 and 2007, Carlsbad Czech Coal 2007, Chigorin Memorial 2007, Wijk aan Zee B in 2008 and Biel Masters 2012. In a match, he lost to David Navara 3,5-2,5 in 2011.

A participant at the Olympiads for the Czech Republic and for Slovakia. In 2011 he moved back to play for Armenia where he won a team gold medal at the World Team Championship and at the 2012 Olympiad.

Movsesian is married with Woman Grandmaster Petra Krupkova.

Peak rating: 2751 in 2009; he was the tenth world best-rated player.
