1985 K. Arakhamia (USSR) won the World Girls’ under 20 Championship in Dobrna, Yugoslavia.
2010 In Turkey, the new world Champion was determined on the tie-break match between two Chinese players Hou Yifan and Ruan Lufei. Being 16, Chinese prodigy Hou Yifan became the youngest World Champion after Maya Chiburdanidze who won her title at the age of 17.
