Marmaduke Wyvill (1815-25.06.1896), an English Master and politician. The only tournament he played was in London in 1851 where he took second prize behind Adolf Anderssen.
Dawid Przepiorka (1880-1940), a strong Polish Master and chess composer who won the first Polish Champion in 1926. Arrested by the German Nazi because being a Jew, he was executed some time later.
Vitaly Chekhover (1908-11.02.1965), a Soviet player and chess composer.
Kornelia Vreeken, Kornelia, (1928), an Honorary Dutch Woman Grandmaster who won five titles of Dutch Women’s Champion.
Gregory Shahade (1978), an American International Master who is also a professional poker player.

John Alan Grefe (06.09.1947 22.12 2013), an International Master who was a co-winners of the 1973 U.S. Championship.

2014 In Windhoek Namibia, Kenny Solomon (RSA) shared first with Ahmed Adly (EGY) but with a better tie-break took the title of 2014 African Individual Champion. In the women’s section Schrook Wafa (EGY) finished clear first.
