Evgeny Vorobiov (1976), a Russian Grandmaster.
Nikola Sedlak (1983), a Serbian Grandmaster who was awarded a gold medal for the best performence at board 4 of the 2014 Olympiad.

DEATHS

Louis Charles Mahe de La Bourdonnais (1795-1840), a French chess master, possibly the strongest player in the early 19th century who died penniless in London.
Olga Rubtsova (20.08.1909-1994), a Soviet Woman Grandmaster who became the fourth Women’s World Chess Champion. She got also the title of Woman Correspondence Grandmaster.

1970 Robert Fischer won the Interzonal of Palma de Majorca 3½ points ahead, thereby beating the record set by Kotov in 1952.
