Armenian Grandmaster. Honoured Master of Sport of the Republic of Armenia. The last Soviet Champion (1991), Armenian Champion in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995, 2004 and 2006. Soviet U20 Champion in 1990.

Best results: Candas Open 1992, 1^st; Paris APSAP 1994, 1^st; New York Open 1998, Linares Open 1999, 1^st; Yerevan Zonal 2000, 2^nd; Batumi Open 2003, 2^nd; Armenia championship 2010, 2-4^th .

A participant in eight Olympiads since 1992 where he won two gold and three bronze team medals.

Best ELO: 2620 in 1998.
