Medina Garcia Antonio José (02.10.1919 – 30.10.2003)
Spanish International Master (1950), Spanish Champion in 1944, 1945, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1963 and 1964. Champion of Venezuela in 1955, 1956 and 1958.
Medina became famous in Spain after he drew with Paul Keres in 1943 and beat Alexander Alekhine at Gijon in 1945.
Best results: Mar del Plata 1948, 1st; Hastings 1952/53, 1-3st; Caracas Zonal 1954, 1st; Goteborg Interzonal 1955, 1-19th and U.S. Open 1962, 1st.
A participant in the Olympiads between 1964 and 1976.
