Lundin Erik Ruben (02.07.1904 – 05.12.1988)

Swedish Grandmaster (1983), one of the strongest Swedish player in the 1930s to the 1960s. Nordic Champion in 1937, eleven times Swedish Champion.

Best results: Gothenburg 1931, 1^st; Stockholm 1934, 1^st; Erebro 1935, 2^nd behind Alekhine; Ostende 1936, 1^st; Munich 1941, 2^nd-3^rd; Bad Gastein 1948, 1^st ; Zurich 1952, 1^st; in the zonals: Helsinki 1947, 5^th-6^th; Marianske-Lazne, 1954, 7^th. In a match, he beat Spielmann in 1933 (+1=5).

Lundin has participated in nine Olympiads between 1933 and 1960 and was awarded one bronze and one silver medal for the team result in 1933 and 1935.
