Best results: winner in Budapest 1997 and Hoffnarfjordur 1998, shared first in Bolzano 1998 and Hamburg 2001, and second in Heart of Finland 1998 and 1999 and Petroff Memorial 2000, Gausdal Classic GM 2003.
His best chess result was when he finished ninth at the 2002 individual Russian championship.
Peak rating: 2566 in 2003. he retired from international chess in 2006.
