Lasker Edward (03.12.1885 – 25.03.1981)
American International Master (1953) born in Germany. He was a distant relative of Emanuel Lasker. He worked as a professional engineer.
Best results: winner of Paris championship in 1912 (defeating Frederic Lazard), London championship in 1914, he left for the U.S. in 1914 via London. He finished first in Chicago in 1916 and won the New York State Open Championship in 1916, 1917, 1919, 1920 and 1921, and the New York Tournament in 1922.
He missed by a narrow margin the title of U.S. Champion in 1923 by losing to Marshall 8½-9½. Finished tenth at the great New York Tournament of 1924.
