Kouvatsou Maria (02.11.1979)

Greek Woman Grandmaster. Dentist. Kouvatsou was the World U20 Girls Champion in 1999, Greek Women Champion in 2000 and second in 2003. In 2001 she drew a match with Anatoly Karpov 1:1 and in 2002 she lost to Viktor Korchnoi ½:1½. She was also a participant in the Olympiads of 2000 and 2002 and in the 2001 Women’s World Championship.
A participant in the Women Olympiads between 1998 and 2002.

After a break of five years in 2004, she came back to the competition in 2009. Best ELO: 2235.
