Kotronias Vasilios (25.08.1964)
Greek Grandmaster (1990) and Greek Champion in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2006, 2010 and 2014. Winner of a silver medal for the second best performance at board two in the European Team Championship in 2001 and a bronze medal for the third best performance at board two in the 2008 Olympiad.
Kotronias won or shared first at Nikea 1984, Athens 1988, Kavala 1991, Gausdal and Wijk aan Zee Master 1992, Gausa 1993l, Corfu 1993, Komotini 1993, Gausdal 1995, Rishon Le Zion 1996, Corinth Open 1997, Panormo Zonal 1998, Glifadas 2001, Gausdal GM, White Tower Open 2002, (shared) Gibraltar Open 2003, Kavala Open 2003, Acropolis Open 2003, Hastings 2003-2004, Korinthos Intl. 2004, Kalamaria Open 2005 and 2007, Capelle la Grande Open 2008, Thomas Georgiou CC GM 2017.
Kotronias has participated in the 1997, 1999 and 2004 world championships and in 12 Olympiads including two in 2000 and 2002 under the banner of Cyprus.
