Al-Modiahki, Mohamad (1978) Qatari GM (1998). Top player of Qatar for many years and Arab Champion, he is now the organizer of the Qatar Open.

Guidarelli, Laurent (1981) GM (2014). French Junior Champion in 2001. Coach and teacher.

Khotenashvili, Bela (1988) Georgian GM (2013). World Girls U16 Champion in 2001 and Georgian Women Champion in 2012. A solid member of the Georgian Women’s Olympic team.

Laylo, Darwin (1980) Filipino GM (2007). Champion of Philippines in 2004 and 2006.

Shamkovich Leonid (1923-22.04.2005) was a Russian-born American Grandmaster and chess writer.

Shaposhnikov, Evgeny (1981) Russian GM 2004. World U12 Boys champion in 1993.

Short, Nigel D (1965) English GM (1984) and journalist. He defected from the FIDE World Championship cycle in 1992 to play the PCA World Chess Championship Match against GarryKapsparov in London in 1993. He is living in Greece.

Suba, Mihail (1947) Romanian GM (1978). Author and coach. Three times national champion, he is now living in Spain.Share first at the World Senior Championship in 2008.

L’Ami, Alina (1985) Romanian WGM and IM. World U10 Girls Champion in 1995 and European U18 Girls Champion in 2002. Married to the Dutch GM Erwin L’Ami.

Sedina, Elena (1968) Ukrainian-Italian WGM IM. Ukrainian Women’s Champion in 1988 and in 1990. She plays for Italy since 2004.
