Henneberger Walter (19.05.1883 – 15.01.1969)

Henneberger-WalterSwiss Master. Mathematician and school teacher. Champion of Switzerland in 1906, 1911, 1912 and 1914.

Henneberger participated in the 1928 Olympiad, finished 9th at the famous Bern 1932 tournament and 10th at the 1934 Zurich Tournament both won by Alexander Alekhine.
He took 16th at the 1928 World Amateur Chess Championship. Chief Editor of

Chief Editor of Schweizerische Schachzeitung (1907-1908 and 1916-1917) and problem editor in the same magazine between 1949 and 1956. Chess compser, he has composed mainly three-and more-movers.

The author of Alpine Chess (edited by White in Christmas Series, 1921), J. Juchli’s Schachproblem (with White, 1908) and W. Preiswerk.
