Swedish Grandmaster (1988) who was European U20 Champion in 1984-5 and Bronze medallist at the World U20 in 1986.

Best results: 1st at the Amsterdam Ohra Open 1985, 1^st Berlin 1988 (VIII) and 1^st Budapest 1988 (IX), 1^st at Malmo 1988-9, 1^st Parthenay 1992, New York Open 1993, 1^st Gausdal and  Malmoe 1993, 1^st Ischia Open and Malmoe in 1997. Also 2^nd at Wijk aan Zee II 1990 and Nordic zonal 1992.
In 1993 he beat Ulf Andersson in a match 3½-2½. He left

He left the international competition in 1998. Anand’s second in 1990.
