Heidenfeld Wolfgang (29.05.1911 – 03.08.1981)
German-born chess author and journalist who lived in South Africa and then settled in Ireland. He was South African Champion in 1939, 1945-46, 1947, 1949, 1951, 1955, 1957, and 1959. He was Irish Champion in 1958, 1963, 1964, 1967, 1968, and 1972. He died in Germany. In 1959, he was the Champion of Ireland and South Africa while living in Germany.
FIDE awarded him the title of International Master, but he declined the title.
