Swedish Grandmaster (1991). Hector is also a Correspondence Grandmaster. Swedish Champion in 2002.

Hector is the club players’ hero, mostly due to his choice of openings. During the years, he has played many a Goering gambit, Latvian gambit, Schara-Henning gambit, and other openings along the same lines.

Best results: Won or shared first at Capelle la Grande in 1987, Rilton Cup 1992-93, Gausdal 1998, Hamburg 2000 and 2001, Skelleftei 2001, Politiken Cup in 1998 and 2008 and 2012 and Copenhagen Chess Challenge 2016.
