Heathcote Godfrey (20.07.1870 – 24.04.1952)

Heathcote-GodfreyEnglish problemist, a lawyer and president of the British Problem Society from 1951 to 1952. Author of 500 problems. His first problem was published in 1886. He was successful in all genres of Orthodox composition and was considered by many as the leader of the English School of problems between 1890 and 1920. A huge selection (300) of his compositions were published by Alan White under the titleChess Idylls (1918).
