Havel Miroslav (07.11.1881 – 08.07.1958)

Pseudonym of Miroslav Kostal. Czech chess composer, International Judge for Chess Compositions in 1956, an a outstanding representative of the Bohemian School in the problem composition in the first half of the twenty century. The editor of columns in magazines Czechoslovenski shah between 1927-1933 and Schahove Umeni between 1947-1951. Since 1898 he has published 1940 compositions, mostly three-move problems and many-movers, about 60 studies. Author of Ceske Granaty v miniature(1936) and Ceske Granaty (1943).
