Galitsky Alexander Vasilievich (21.02.1863 – 18.11.1921)

Classical Russian problemist, a doctor by profession.

Galitsky has published since 1886 more than 1850 problems of different genres.
His participation in composition tourney was quite rare- only 30 distinctions, including 10 first prizes.

He was a supporter of the Czech school, and borrowing a high technical skillfulness of this school to create his own artistic style. He was chess editor in few European magazines.

A collection of Bishop and two Knights problems were published in 1924.
