Freeman has been the President of the Bermuda Chess Federation since 1990, FIDE Treasurer (2006-2014) and FIDE Executive Director since the end of 2011.
He was also the organiser of the Bermuda International Chess Tournaments, as well as being the organiser of the famous Bermuda Party at the Chess Olympiads.
A participant in the 1994, 2002, 2004 and 2006 Olympiads.
