Földeák Walter Arpád (08.07.1917 – 13.07.2004)
Hungarian chess historian, journalist and engineer. His first name was Khloyber.
Foldeak was also an International Judge in Chess Compositions 1964.
He was the author of the famous book about the history of the Chess Olympiads (1958) and also the book on Geza Maroczy and the monograph on Gedeon Barcza and Ein Vierteljahrhundert Turmendspiele, Theorie und Praxis (1976).
Foldeak was the constant writer for Schakkelet and numerous foreign chess periodical publications as well as an author of biographies on Dr. Lajos Asztalos (1998) and Endre Steiner and Dr. Arpad Vajda (1996).
