Flesch Janos Laszio (30.09.1933 – 09.12.1983)

Flesch-Janos-LaszioHungarian Grandmaster (1980). Flesch is most famous for succeeding in a world record simultaneous blindfold exhibition against fifty-two opponents in 1960; winning thirty-one games, losing three and drawing eighteen. However, he was apparently allowed to consult scoresheets of the games and therefore his claim was disallowed.

Best results: Oslo 1976, 1st; Pecs 1980, 1st; Ales 1981, 1st; Linz 1982; 1st; Dortmund in 1976; 2nd.

A participant in the 1964 Olympiad (second board) and in the 1965 European Team Championship where he was awarded two bronze medals.

Flesch and his wife died in England in a traffic accident with a lorry.
