Duz-Khotimirsky Fyodor Ivanovich (26.09.1879 – 06.11.1965)

Duz-khotimirsky-Fyodor-IvanRussian International Master (1950). One of the strongest players in Kiev of the early 1900s, by winning four-time the Kiev championship (1900, 1902, 1903, and 1906) .

Best results: Moscow championship 2007; St. Petersburg championship in 1910, 1st;  Uzbekistan championship 1931, 1st.
In 1910, he drew a match with Frank Marshall 3-3.
Duz-Khotimirsky is known for his victories against Emanuel Lasker and Akiba Rubinstein at St. Petersburg 1909 but also he defeated Aron Nimzowich, David Janowski,  Rudolf Spielmann, Mikhail Chigorin and others.

Later he became a leading member of the Soviet Chess Federation and played a great role in the development of chess in the USSR.
