U.S. Grandmaster (2000) born in Cuba. World Blitz Champion in 2009; Cuban Champion in 2002, 2003, 2006 and 2012; second in 2001. Cuban Junior Champion in 1999.

Best results: won or shared first in Capablanca Memorial Master in 1998, Valencia Zonal 2000, Guil. Garcia Memorial II in 2000, Lisbon Open 2000, Guayaquil Zonal 2.3 in 2003, Capablanca Memorial Elite in 2002, 2007, 2008 and 2009, North Sea Cup 2002, Wijk aan Zee II 2004, Biel 2008, Medellin Open 2010 and Santiago de los Caballeros Zonal 2011, Thessaloniki GrandPrix 2014; World Rapid Championship 2015, 2-5th.
