Samuel Loyd (1841-10.04.1911), an American, the most original and witty composer in the chess history. Published ‘Sam Loyd and his Chess Problems’ in 1913.
Boris Spassky (1937), a Russian Grandmaster who became the tenth World Chess Champion (1969 to 1972). He is the oldest living former world champion. In 2010, Spassky had suffered a serious stroke that had left him paralyzed on his left side.
Dragan Barlov 30.01.1957 a Serbian Grandmaster who was the Yugoslav Champion in 1986.
Alexey Dreev (1969), a Russan Grandmaster, author and trainer who was the World Under-16 Champion in 1983 and 1984, and the European Junior Champion in 1988.
Drazen Sermek (1969), a Slovenian born-Croatian Grandmaster who won the Slovenian Chess Championship in 1993 and 1998.
