Irving Chernev, (1900.29.09.1981), prolific Russian-American chess author of many chess historical books.
Hans-Joachim Hecht, (1939), German Grandmaster also correspondence international master.
Bjorn Brinck Claussen (1942), Danish International Master who was Danish Champion in 1966, 1970, 1977.
Raymond Keene, (1948), the second English Grandmaster, national champion in 1971 but better know as chess organizer and columnist. He is the author of more than 60 books.
Maxim Dlugy (1966), an American-born Russian Grandmaster who won the World Junior Championship in 1985 and was President of the American Chess Federation in 1990-93.
Artur Kogan (1974), an Israeli born-Ukrainian Grandmaster, a coach who is living in Spain.
Zvonko Stanojoski (1964), a Macedonian Grandmaster.
Chong Liang (1980), a Chinese Grandmaster.
Felipe de Cresce El Debs (1985), a Brazilian Grandmaster who won the Brazilian U20 in 2004.
Urii Eliseev (1996-26.11.2016), a Russian Grandmaster. Eliseev died in Novem2016 at the age of 20 after falling from a balcony on the 12th-floor apartment.

Preston Ware (12.08.1821–1890), American chess player, known for his gambit and the Ware Opening.
Stojan Puc (09.04.1921-2004), Slovenian Grandmaster who won the Slovenian Chess Championship four times in 1954 (joint), 1958, 1965 (joint), and 1967.
