Rune Djurhuus (1970), a Norwegian Champion and Grandmaster who was the European Junior in 1991 ahead of V. Kramnik.
Ana Benderac (1977), a Serbian Woman Grandmaster.
Alexander Goloschapov (1978), a Ukrainian Grandmaster and FIDE Senior Trainer.
Benjamin Bok (1995), a Dutch Grandmaster who was a member of the national team in 2016 at Baku Olympiad.

DEATH

Mikhail Ivanovich Chigorin (12.11.1850-1908), the founder of the Russian chess school and one best world player in the 1890s. Steinitz said that he was “the most meritorious challenger for the World Crown”.
Ian Wells  (22.06.1964-1982), English International Master who died at 17  when he went swimming and got caught in an undertow.

1947 M. Najdorf played 45 games blindfold and simultaneously at the Prestes Maia Gallery, São Paulo, Brazil on 24-25 January 1947. He scored +39 –2 =4 in approximately 23 hours.
